Individual Counseling

Has your journey started?

As you search for help, maybe you have had a glimmer that you could feel more fulfilled, peaceful, connected. However fleeting the vision, it could mean that your journey has already begun.

I’m glad you found me and hope that we can explore whether I am the right therapist for you at this juncture. I would love to hear about the details of your vision and what you imagine is possible as you move through challenges.

Perhaps you have tried getting help before and found it overwhelming. I have been in your shoes and have had both life-changing therapy experiences and far less productive, even fairly damaging ones.

Good fit – it’s essential.

From my experience, finding the right therapist is all about a good fit and what works best for you. Though training, modalities, and mastery are all significant, research shows that the primary factor predicting success in therapy is building an authentic connection with your therapist.

But what is that exactly?

Rapport has a lot to do with how well you connect with your therapist and their stance – what they pay attention to, how they listen and hold space, how closely they keep track of and remain curious about your objectives, dreams, and gifts.

In my practice, our first step is to create a trusting, safe connection where you can focus on the areas of your life where you most want to create change and the places in your heart and soul that most want attention.

Get out your map and hit the road.

Our therapeutic conversations are collaborative and interactive – ideally, something akin to a fantastic road trip. Your stories and experiences are valued, so you can experience yourself in new ways. Your emotions are welcomed, so you can harness self-awareness and healing.

Sometimes, you’ll want to look in the rearview mirror at past experiences and road bumps. All the while, we will stay focused on your future destination. You will get there in the ways that fit you best – through your intellect, emotions, body, intuition, imagination, or all of the above.

An investment in you and what’s next.

Whatever roads you are navigating, whatever your aim, therapy can be one of the best investments you have ever made in yourself. Many of my clients describe it as coming more and more home to themselves, to a place where their inner well-being is aligned with the most important aspects of their lives.

Think we should continue the conversation?
